The New Zealand Farm Environment Trust has welcomed one of the country’s most established companies to the sponsorship family behind the Ballance Farm Environment Awards.
New Zealand Farm Environment (NZFE) Trust chairman Jim Cotman says Christchurch-based Donaghys Ltd will join the awards sponsorship family from the 2013 Ballance Farm Environment Awards.
“It’s pleasing to have another highly respected New Zealand company support the Ballance Farm Environment Awards programme. Donaghys will certainly complement the current top line-up of sponsors who are leading from the front foot.”
Now entering its 137th year, Donaghys is a world-leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative products that provide effective solutions for the rural, industrial, marine and aquaculture markets.
Managing director Jeremy Silva (pictured) says the company sees sponsorship of the Ballance Farm Environment Awards as a good fit because Donaghys is a dedicated supporter of sustainable farming.
“Donaghys has invested millions of dollars into research and development to introduce products that are specifically tailored to NZ conditions. We are continuously looking for ways to reduce the cost of farm inputs while protecting productivity and the environment.”
“Donaghys are pleased to support the NZFE Trust in re-establishing a ‘Farm Stewardship Award’. The ability to ensure a balance between managing sustainable productivity while developing or protecting unique habitat deserves recognition.”
“The sponsorship of the Ballance Farm Environment Awards reflects this continued focus and Donaghys on-going commitment to New Zealand farming.”
He says Donaghys is looking forward to being involved with the Ballance Farm Environment Awards and the NZFE Trust.
“The New Zealand Farm Environment Trust is a growing and highly respected forum and our association with the awards will enable Donaghys to be involved with other leaders in agricultural sustainability.”
