Please read the terms and conditions of entry below and then click on the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page to complete your entry.
You will receive notification when your entry has been received. Your details will then be forwarded to your Regional Coordinator. The timing of judging is unique to each region.
Finalists will be chosen after the first round of judging. Finalists will then be judged by a second panel of finalist judges and be eligible for a number of awards (as listed on the website). Award winners will be announced and prizes presented at the Regional Award dinners. Each region's Supreme Winner will then again be judged for the National Award - the Gordon Stephenson Trophy.
Conditions of Entry
For the purposes of these awards a farm will be defined as a business enterprise based on the productive or amenity use of soils or other natural resources.
The entrant’s property must be within the boundaries of the area of the Northland, Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Horizons, Greater Wellington, Canterbury, Otago and Southland Regional Councils or the Gisborne District Council. The property must be an economically viable farming enterprise.
If your property falls within more than one Regional Council boundary, please nominate which region this entry relates to. We will only accept one entry for your property per year.
Only those who are named in the official entry form can be considered for an award. It is therefore important to ensure that the entrant names are representative of the farming business.
The New Zealand Farm Environment Trust does not support the promotion of goods, products or services that entrants into the Ballance Farm Environment Awards may be associated with.
The NZFE Trust reserves the right not to judge an entry if it is deemed a farm does not fit the overall objectives of the Awards, and not allocate a prize in a category should entrants not meet the Award’s winning criteria.
Prizes are not transferable. Prizes may be provided in cash or an equivalent value of products/services at the sponsors discretion.
The entrant agrees to participate in and assist with publicity of any Regional and/or National event as deemed appropriate by the New Zealand Farm Environment Trust. Each finalist will be photographed and a DVD will be produced. The photographs and DVD are the property of the New Zealand Farm Environment Trust and will be used to promote the Ballance Farm Environment Awards programme and to promote sustainable profitable farming in general.
The information you supply may be used by the Ballance Farm Environment Awards for the purpose of judging, publications relating to the Awards and inclusion on the New Zealand Farm Environment Award website.
Please notify your Regional Coordinator if you do not want this information passed onto the Trust's authorised users, including researchers and sponsors
