Sustainability is at the heart of all businesses – especially those relying on nature, and Livestock Improvement (LIC) maintains its ongoing commitment to fostering the highest standards of excellence through the Ballance Farm Environment Awards.

LIC is one of New Zealand’s pioneer agricultural organisations, its roots dating back to 1909, the last 100 years seeing perhaps the biggest change to the landscape and environment than at any other time.

Today’s farmers are challenged at every corner to extract maximum value from their animals and the land, without exploiting nature and the principles of stewardship of the environment is one embedded in LIC’s core values, and its business philosophy.
