2008

This year the New Zealand Farm Environment Award Trust decided to produce, for the first time, a published Annual Report.
The purpose of this is twofold.

Firstly we wanted a document that served as an accountability statement to sponsors, partners and stakeholders and secondly, as a promotional document for the prestigious Ballance Farm Environment Awards programme.
The success of the Trust and the Ballance Farm Environment Awards programme is because of the commitment of a team of people. In this regard I would like to iterate the comments of the Treasurer, Peter Nation:

“This year I also wish to report on the large intangible investment and contributions made to the Trust in kind. Many organisations and volunteers contribute huge amounts of time, resource and people resource to the Trust which is neither measured nor valued. These contributions range from the use of meeting rooms, vehicle running expenses, stationery and many other contributions which the Trust gets value from and which also reduces its direct costs of operation. I would like to therefore place on record the Trusts thanks to the many organisations, individuals, sponsors and Trustees whom contribute value in ensuring the Trust meets its many objectives and ensures that environmental sustainability in farming within New Zealand is promoted.”
